Malacca to host Malaysia Bike Week

The state will host Malaysia Bike Week beginning June 14, which will be held at the Malacca Internatio­nal Trade Centre for three days.

Chief Minister Datuk Ab Rauf Yusoh said the event, which will be held in collaborat­ion with the Superbiker­s Associatio­n of Malaysia, is expected to bring together thousands of enthusiast­s and owners of motorcycle­s of various categories, including high-powered ones.

He added that Malaysia Bike Week is also expected to showcase selected motorcycle­s, including some belonging to His Majesty the King of Malaysia Sultan Ibrahim.

“Malaysia Bike Week is a prestigiou­s event, which will attract motorcycle owners and enthusiast­s, from home and abroad, to see the various types of motorcycle­s up close.

“Various interestin­g activities will also be held throughout the threeday festival, including a lucky draw offering a main prize of a Proton X70,” he said at the Malacca Internatio­nal Motorfest and Scooterfes­t at the Malacca Internatio­nal Motor Circuit on Saturday.

Ab Rauf also said Malaysia Bike Week will be among large-scale events to attract tourists in conjunctio­n with Visit Malacca Year 2024.

Earlier, he said the two-day Malacca Internatio­nal Motorfest and Scooterfes­t is expected to bring together more than 10,000 local motorcycle owners and enthusiast­s nationwide, as well as from Singapore, Thailand and the Philippine­s.

He added that it will be one of the annual events in Malacca, which would not only attract tourists but also provide a platform for twowheeler owners and enthusiast­s, especially youths, to meet. – Bernama
