Pulau’ is the Malay word for island and islands are what the tropics are all about. Imagine lounging around doing absolutely nothing all day except reading a book, touching up your tan, swimming, and contemplating never returning to the rat race and your mediocre day job… Bliss! Maybe you want a little more action – snorkelling, scuba diving, yoga at sunrise, barefoot running on the beach – before indulging in the more hedonistic activities of napping under a coconut tree, floating in bathwater warm seas… and lounging around.
A word of warning to those whose idea of an island getaway is throbbing EDM, tacky tourist excursions and banana pancake stalls on every corner – these are not the islands for you.
