Pu­lau’ is the Malay word for is­land and is­lands are what the trop­ics are all about. Imag­ine loung­ing around do­ing ab­so­lutely noth­ing all day ex­cept read­ing a book, touch­ing up your tan, swim­ming, and con­tem­plat­ing never re­turn­ing to the rat race and your me­diocre day job… Bliss! Maybe you want a lit­tle more ac­tion – snorkelling, scuba div­ing, yoga at sun­rise, bare­foot run­ning on the beach – be­fore in­dulging in the more he­do­nis­tic ac­tiv­i­ties of nap­ping un­der a co­conut tree, float­ing in bath­wa­ter warm seas… and loung­ing around.

A word of warn­ing to those whose idea of an is­land get­away is throb­bing EDM, tacky tourist ex­cur­sions and ba­nana pan­cake stalls on ev­ery cor­ner – th­ese are not the is­lands for you.
