What’s in the name?

The name Kuala Lumpur literally means ‘muddy confluence’. The city is so called as it’s situated at the confluence of the Gombak River and the Klang River.

One of the KLCC towers is tilted.

Two different companies were hired to build the towers and one of the companies made a mistake and discovered that the tower had a 25mm tilt. To correct the tilt, the next 16 floors were slanted back 20mm.

Flooding is common

Due to its tropical climate, flash floods are a norm in KL during the monsoon season, especially in the city centre and low-lying areas. So keep this in mind and check the weather before making plans.
