A Casio special

Top Gear (Malaysia) - - Watch List -

Casio G-SHOCK’s latest timepieces made their debuts here recently, and in style. The limited edition MR-G2000HA and MTG-B1000 were launched during a special evening co-hosted by Casio Malaysia and Cortina Watch at Beta Restobar, Kuala Lumpur.

The MR-G2000HA, inspired by the TETSU-TSUBA (“iron sword guard”) of traditional Japanese swords, is a fine example of how to marry a symbol of Japanese strength with aesthetic sensibilities.

Each timepiece is handcrafted and features a new hammer tone pattern called Arashi-Tuchime (created by artisan Bihou Asano), a three-way time sync via Bluetooth, and the G-SHOCK app. Incorporated too is G-SHOCK’s GPS Hybrid Wave Ceptor technology that accurately measures time and location from anywhere on earth.

Only 350 pieces of the G-SHOCK MR-G2000HA will be made, which means only a handful will be available here.

If you can’t get one, fret not because the MTG-B1000 series could make up for it. While it isn’t a limited edition, it does have features similar to the MR-G2000HA’s.

The latest in Casio G-SHOCK MTG men’s line, the MTG-B1000 leverages to great effect the use of metal and resin in its construction. Available in three choices, the MTG-B1000 boasts of having the latest evolution of the Core Guard Structure that employs a metal frame formed by joining the bezel and back cover with metal parts to house the module and provide shock resistance.

The layout of the parts has been rearranged, allowing for a streamlined profile and enhanced wearability. Besides that, the MTG-B1000 benefits from Casio’s Connected Time Engine, BLE time-sync, and the G-SHOCK Connected smartphone app.

Like the MR-G2000AH special, the MTG-B1000 is all about form, function and st yle, making it ideal for both the active lifest yle and the casual.
