MEET REBELLION’S NEW RE-1 2.0 CHRONOGRAPH AND THREE-HANDED PREDATOR S

Top Gear (Malaysia) - - Watch List -

Rebellion has expanded its collection yet again after debuting its new RE-1 2.0 chronograph and a three-handed Predator S. As with any Rebellion creation, both offerings embody the best of the renowned Swiss watchmaker’s racing-inspired craftsmanship and engineering.

Kicking things off with the Predator S, this smaller version of Rebellion’s Predator has been fashioned much like a race car. For starters, its date display aperture evokes a fuel tank flap. This model also features characteristics that are typical of the automotive world like the multilayered dial with its honeycomb base and the bezel attached by eight distinctive logo-branded screws.

Similar to the larger Predator, this S version harnesses an automatic Swiss-made movement engine that’s equally robust as it is precise. Besides employing 27 jewels in its build, the movement boasts a 4hz balancing frequency on top of a 48-hour reserve; offering precise seconds, minutes, hours and date readings.

Setting the Predator S apart from the Predator base is its smaller 42mm titanium or titanium black DLC case. Finishing things off here is the dial’s anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass, and a leather strap with folding clasp type buckle, the latter two helping to keep this timepice as classy in its feel too.

Next up comes Rebellion’s newest square-framed RE-1 2.0 chronograph offering. Resolutely masculine, contemporary, and with its elegant square frame featuring a honeycomb pattern, the RE-1 2.0 gives way to the most sought-after finishes, with this level of finesse signaling Rebellion’s continuous pushing of the codes of luxury beyond their limits.

Proud of this new sporty dial design, Rebellion also offers versions of this monumental case design featuring a combination of forged and braided carbon, as well as gold or titanium finishes. The move marks a subtle allusion to the original materials of race car chassis that offers both exceptional lightness and rigidity. For this offering, Rebellion employs yet another 27-jewel Swiss automatic chronograph movement engine. Besides hours, minutes, small second and date readouts, there’s a chronograph mechanism that works by using the central 60-second hand, 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock and 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock.

All this is balanced at a frequency of 4Hz and powered by a 48-hour reserve too. Finishing things off here are the choice between brown, black, red and blue-hued vulcanised rubber straps and folding clasp type buckle combination. All in all, the RE-1 2.0 isn’t just a race-inspired chronograph, it’s also one that’s ready to go racing with its wearer too.
