t all started with a message through the Armorall Facebook page requesting for sponsorship of products for a charity car wash. Armorall subsequently found out that students and parent volunteers from Anglo-chinese School (Barker Road) were raising funds to help Joel Lim, a student stricken with leukaemia, through a car wash organized in the school compound. This event was one of several activities under the fundraising campaign, Turn Things Around for

IJoel, organized by his schoolmates. A first car wash held on 27th May coincided with the school’s Meet-theparents session. A second one took place on 29th May and mainly reached out to members of the Barker Road Methodist Church. On those bright sunny days, the Anglo-chinese School (Barker Road)’s mission of Touch Hearts, Empower Minds & Enrich Souls was fully demonstrated where we saw everyone come together to donate their time and money to this worthy cause. To ensure that the cars were given a good wash, Armorall staff were on site to teach and share washing tips with the many young and eager student volunteers. Everyone, from alumni to parents, staff and students chipped in, in every possible way to make the event a success.

Over the two days, more than 200 cars were washed. Many donated generously and words of encouragement were aplenty. It was two days of graciousness and kindness that are sure to go a long way.
