Now in its eighth year, the BOV Prize in Drama was awarded to Masquerade students, Colleen Genovese and Chaya Fenech.
The BOV Prize in Drama is awarded to Masquerade students who achieve top grades in the Trinity College London solo examination in drama. This award recognises hard work and determination as it is rewards students who achieve and retain high standards in their performance.
Colleen Genovese and Chaya Fenech were presented with their awards during the Annual Prize Giving Ceremony held at the Manoel Theatre. John Paul Abela, Manager at BOV presented the awards to the winners. “Promoting arts and culture within the local scene remains one of BOV’s strongholds. We strongly believe in a holistic approach to education, with arts playing a key role,” said Mr Abela whilst encouraging students to retain their determination.
Anthony Bezzina, Artistic Director of Masquerade Theatre Company, spoke enthusiastically about the high levels in this year’s performances. “This was a particularly tough year to determine the winner, so much so that we resolved to nominate two winners. This initiative, which is possible thanks to BOV, has a significant role in motivating students who are keen in taking their passion for drama further.”
