Ascent Software awarded ISO 9001 certification
Ascent Software have just been awarded ISO 9001 certification. This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and involvement of top management, the process approach and continual improvement.
Awarded by Dimitto Certification Services, Ascent Software chose to embark on the ISO 9001 in order to demonstrate their customer approach and their strong commitment to process methodologies. The board of directors believe strongly that an efficient IT business must be driven by process and ISO 9001 is the recognition of this ethos.
To maintain the high standards of customer service and product delivery Ascent use two different process methodologies: Agile and Waterfall. These basically ensure that all development stages are carried out in a set, methodical manner; avoiding setbacks and other pitfalls which often plague development projects. Use of these methodologies was a key aspect of achieving the ISO 9001 certification.
