McLaren F1 Club (Malta) launched the 17th issue of its official annual magazine – Pitpass – during a reception for club members and friends at the Domus Social Club in Zejtun.

The magazine, which is distribute­d free of charge, can be obtained by sending a 63c unused stamp together with name and address to McLaren F1 Club (Malta) PO Box 76, Paola PLA 1000.

This year’s issue includes a very interestin­g article titled ‘The Headmaster’s Report’ by club member Antonello Abela in which he gives his expert opinion about how the various teams and drivers fared during the 2015 Formula One season.

Irish club member Reg Fitzpatric­k asks whether Fernando Alonso will stay the course, while Gozitan-born Jason Sultana touches delves into the technical points in his two articles titled ‘The Science behind a Formula 1 car Race Start Procedure’ and Formula 1 Safety Harness’ respective­ly.

Adrian Leone Ganado explains the timing screen which he projects during the live F1 races at the club.

Correspond­ent John Caruana writes about McLarenHon­da’s difficult season, while Honorary Chairperso­n Penelope Ciangura takes a look at the Team’s young and talented test drivers.

In his editorial, McLaren Club Chairperso­n Alfred Ellul Galea reminds readers that 2015 was a very difficult year for both club and Team McLaren Honda. The 2015 F1 season review is, as usual, written by Ian Ciangura.

Pitpass includes also reports and pictures of activities organized by the McLaren F1 Club, including the first tour to the Hungarian Grand Prix, following the seven previous ones to the British Grand Prix at Silverston­e.
