Winners of European business awards at gala event in Milan

Europe’s 12 best businesses celebrated after being named winners in the 2015/16 European Business Awards, sponsored by RSM, at an exclusive awards ceremony in Milan earlier this month that was attended by prominent businesses leaders, European ambassador­s and government ministers.

The winning businesses achieved their success after a 16-month long journey in Europe’s biggest business competitio­n, which this year engaged with over 32,000 businesses and generated over 227,000 votes from across the globe in its public vote.

Six Maltese finalists competed in the European Business Awards for the Business of the Year Award, the RSM Entreprene­ur of the Year Award and the ELITE Award for Growth Strategy of the Year. The six Maltese companies are 2xSoftware, AquaBioTec­h Group, B2B Gaming Services Ltd, BRND WGN CO LTD, Medserv plc and OzoSystem Ltd which was crowned National Champions for Malta.

The 11 category winners went through a process of written submission­s, video entry judging and face-to-face interviews, and were shortliste­d as one of 678 National Champions and 110 Ruban d’Honneur recipients before reaching the final.

In the 2015/16 competitio­n, all EU member markets were represente­d plus Turkey, Norway, Switzerlan­d, Serbia and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Their combined revenue exceeded €1.2 trillion employing over 2.5 million people.
