ECOVIS GRC Limited, part of the ECOVIS Malta group, a firm specialising in accountancy, tax advisory, audit, legal and governance services, has been approved to act as Corporate Adviser for companies listing securities on the Malta Stock Exchange’s ‘Prospects’ market. ‘Prospects’ was launched earlier this year with the aim of broadening financing options for SMEs by offering a more cost-effective solution for such companies looking to raise up to €5 million in equity or debt capital, and correspondingly increasing investor access to investment opportunities.

The new role of Corporate Adviser is in line with the strategy being pursued by ECOVIS in Malta, which has seen the firm expanding its services in the corporate finance and capital advisory area. Managing Director Anthony Vella explained that as a Corporate Adviser, Ecovis Malta would be in a position to “build on the past offerings of business valuation and merger and acquisition advice for local, small, and medium sized businesses, to now provide multidisciplinary advice for owners looking to expand, restructure or consider transaction alternatives for their commercial operation”. He added that “the possibility of assisting clients in raising capital through the role of Corporate Adviser fits well within our knowhow in the areas of accounting, legal, finance and regulatory compliance. In our capacity as Corporate Adviser, we shall be assisting small and medium sized enterprises to prepare for admission to market listing. We will subsequently ensure that the company maintains observance with all the applicable rules and regulations of corporate governance and transparency, for the benefit and protection of all the stakeholders.

The ECOVIS group in Malta is part of ECOVIS International, a global consulting network with its origins in Europe. It is composed of more than 4,500 specialists operating in over 60 countries, providing services mainly to mid-sized firms. Its one-stop-shop concept implemented on a national basis as well as internationally, ensures all-round support in legal, fiscal, managerial and administrative issues.
