Luxol are now in joint top position

Luxol are now riding the crest of a wave, with a fourth consecutive victory, which takes them alongside Depiro, in a top placing.

It was their second league century, as the deadly trio, of Samuel Deguara, William Ahlberg and Pierce Cumpstone captured the major haul of points for their side.

Starlites were fighting an uphill battle, but they could be considered as acquitting themselves well, considering the circumstances. Luxol seem to be the major threat of all the other teams right now. They recovered CJ Cordina for this encounter.

Starlites were hit early by Deguara's presence in the paint, Asthey fell behind, with the Violets having Ahlberg netting a trey, and Ivan Mitrovic doing likewise, at the other end.

An 8-2 session ending run enhanced Luxol's advantage. In the second period Luxol were still drawing away from their opponents, with a 9-2 run, and a Cordina triple.

Starlites' treys began to fly in, as Mitrovic started with two and Ryan Carabott sank a brace more. Luxol's runaway score was whittled down, but Starlites were still 35-49 behind, at the interval.

After the break it was Luxol's turn for triples, with Ahlberg netting twice and Cumpstone with another, in between.

Anthony Schembri managed his trey for Starlites, but Luxol had Deguara with more points, and a late 11-2 run took them to an improved 75-50 score. In the last quarter Luxol 's early onslaughts had Cumpstone and Ahlberg with more treys, as they left their adversaries further behind.

Starlites put in their contribution, but Luxol were not denied their century, as Ahlberg netted his last triple, and his side went on with more points till the end, and with Starlites totting up an acceptable score.
