Police looking into claim of Syrian gang in Valletta
The Malta Police Force has flagged a post that is circulating on social media alleging that a group of Syrian teenagers have been acting violently towards locals in Valletta.
The post says that these teenagers, “armed with pocket knives and chains,” are hanging around a popular fast food restaurant in Valletta along Republic Street, that they are harassing locals and are even getting violent.
The police said that they are investigating the claims currently making the rounds on social media in order to ascertain whether there is any truth to all this.
It is not known whether there will be any repercussions on the individual who started the claims should the allegations turn out to be untrue. The social media post called directly on the authorities to take action.
