Donnarumma signs new four-year contract at AC Milan
Milan have announced Gianluigi Donnarumma has signed his a new four-year contract to stay at the club until 2021.
The San Siro club confirmed they had reached a deal with the prodigiously talented teenage keeper via Twitter yesterday evening.
The club’s official account announced: ‘#ACMilan and @gigiodonna1 have reached an agreement to extend the goalkeeper’s contract through to 2021’.
Under the terms of the new contract Donnarumma will earn £5million-a-season, with the deal containing two buy-out clauses which depend on Milan qualifying for the Champions League.
Should they fail to reach Europe’s elite club competition, the clause is believed to stand at 50m euros but if they do, it doubles to 100m euros.
The young keeper initially rejected a new deal with the Rossoneri, but has reconsidered in recent weeks after further negotiations.
Milan are also close to finalising terms with Antonio Donnarumma, elder brother of Gianluigi.
Antonio, 27, is also a goalkeeper and is set to make the move from Greek side Asteras Tripolis as part of the deal to keep his younger sibling in Milan.
The pair of brothers have arrived at Casa Milan to sign their respective contracts along with agent Enzo Raiola, cousin of Mino early yesterday.
Antonio took his medical on Tuesday morning, while his younger brother met with his agent Mino Raiola in a local hotel.
The move likely means veteran goalie Marco Storari, who has played for Juventus, Napoli and Fiorentina, will become third choice and could decide to leave the club in search of regular football during the final few years of his career.
Antonio spent the 2016-17 season at Asteras Tripoli, making 21 appearances as the club finished 12th in the Superleague Greece, just two points above the relegation zone.
