National Youth Technology and Innovation Fair
Parliamentary Secretary for Financial Services Digital Economy and Innovation Silvio Schembri inaugurated The National Youth Technology and Innovation Fair organised by the National Youth Council in Valletta.
During the inauguration, Schembri said that the government is committed to promote innovation and help for the creation of an ecosystem that allows new tech start-ups to develop their concepts and ideas. “The Government is working to ease the difficulties start-ups encounter in taking off with a good idea and turning it into a successful product or service,“he added. He congratulated KNZ for their initiative and work to bring ideas together, in order to promote technology and innovation amongst youth.
KNZ President Michael Piccinino said that it is the first time that this fair was being organised and its aim was to diversify KNZ’s work and expose youth talent in order to achieve a better reach out for youth interested in technology and innovation. He added that KNZ was planning for this fair to become a yearly event.
This fair which is being organised at St George’s Square in Valletta, is giving the opportunity to youth to show case their talents related with Technology, IT and Gaming whilst serving as a portal for different work opportunities available for youth. The fair features robot and gaming exhibitions, innovative startups and youth tech organisations.
Opposition MPs Kristy Debono, David Agius and Chris Said were also present for this event.
