Gozo ministry announces €1.5 million investment for road works

Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana yesterday announced a number of road works in Gozo which will amount to €1.5 million.

“This programme of works is just one part in the implementa­tion of Project Gozo,” she said.

Caruana said that after meeting all Gozitan local councils, a number of roads which need to be rebuilt were identified, she said, many of which were residentia­l roads.

This investment will not be the only of its kind, the minister added, mentioning that there is also a €1.8 million amount that the Gozo ministry has allocated for roads which fall under its responsibi­lity, as was establishe­d in the budget.

She said that she does not accept cosmetic work, and the ministry will affirm that work be of quality standard, and occur according to the programme of works scheduled, with full accountabi­lity for the funds which will be spent.

The roads that will undergo works through this €1.5 million investment are: Triq iż-Żewwieqa in Għajnsiele­m, Triq tal-Virtù and Triq Tumas Cassar in Għarb, Trejqet San Pupulju, Trejqet Dun Ġuzepp Cassar, Trejqet id-Dehra, Triq it-Tamar and part of Triq ilFanal in Għasri, Triq Wied il-Lunzjata in Kerċem, Triq il-Qortin in Nadur, Triq ta' Kassja and triq ġdida in Triq il-Mitħna in Qala, Triq id-Duluri and Triq il-Wileġ in San Lawrenz, Triq l-20 ta' Lulju and part of Triq Seguna in Sannat, Triq Għajn Ħożna in Xagħra, Triq ilKnisja in Xewkija and Triq Sagħtrija in Żebbuġ.
