Nursery twinning between Lija-Iklin Nursery and BTs Rekord of Poland

- Victor Ciangura

The twinning agreement was signed on Thursday 18 January 2018 by Lija-Iklin Nursery President Mr Joseph Vella and Mr Janusza Azymure President of BTS Rekord of Bielsko-Biala of Poland.

The signing of the agreement was held at Eurosport Complex Birkirkara.

In an address by Mr Vella he said that their Polish collaborators have been known to them since they visited them last summer and were impressed with their facilities, the set-up and the potential to help local young players to improve their abilities and making it up to the top levels of the game.

Vella added: “Football is not a hobby or pastime as it may have been in the past but presently, it is a professional activity. Thus the whole set-up at Bielsko-Biala, especially including the staff, is geared to reach these objectives.

This was what motivated us to work on this collaboration as we contend that our young players, especially those talented, need outside help and opportunity which may not be available here due to our limitations as a small island and country.

“We also intend, as included in the agreement, to promote Futsal which is a very corresponding game to football and which is also so beneficial to practitioners of the football game. This is also another consideration that we are looking for the opportunity to introduce in our curriculum and this is now more than possible with collaboration with one of the best outfits in Poland in the game of Futsal.”

Vella then invite the Polish club’s president to sign the agreement remaining hopeful that this would be just the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between thetwo sports operators.
