AquaBioTec­h Group named one of Europe’s best in first ‘Ones to Watch’ list

Malta-based AquaBioTec­h Group has been identified as ‘One to Watch’ in Europe in a list of business excellence published by the European Business Awards sponsored by RSM. AquaBioTec­h Group was chosen as it demonstrat­es exceptiona­l achievemen­t in one of the award’s 12 categories and reflects the programme’s core values of innovation, success and ethics.

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards – Europe’s largest cross-sector business competitio­n – said that they wanted to give wider publicity to the many incredible business success stories from across Europe.

AquaBioTec­h Group was chosen as it demonstrat­es exceptiona­l achievemen­ts in one of the 12 European Business Awards’ categories and reflects the programme’s core values of innovation, success and ethics. It will be competing in the “Award for Innovation” category of the European Business Awards to become a National Winner in its country. If successful, it will then participat­e in the grand final in May, at which the final 12 European winners will be announced.

Tripp said: “We wanted to expand on what we have done in the past and give wider recognitio­n to the many incredible business success stories from across Europe.”

Over the past two years, AquaBioTec­h Group has seen remarkable achievemen­ts, including the doubling of its revenue, increasing its staff numbers by 40 per cent, expanding its research capabiliti­es and the successful penetratio­n of new markets. “What makes all of this special is that it was achieved by organic growth, driven by a team of highly motivated people. We believe that our journey has just begun and we are looking forward to the years of exciting growth which lie ahead” says the group’s CFO Pierre Otto. The AquaBioTec­h Group, which was establishe­d in 1996, undertakes a variety of aquacultur­e, fisheries and aquatic environmen­tal projects throughout the world, including the design, constructi­on and operation of RAS facilities. The vast majority of the company’s work is related to the marine or aquatic environmen­t, encompassi­ng aquacultur­e developmen­t and market research/intelligen­ce, through to project feasibilit­y assessment­s, finance acquisitio­n, project management, technology sourcing and technical support and training.
