Swieqi Phoenix mathematically winners of the First Division
Following their 10th consecutive win which meant an extention of the team’s unbeaten run in the First Division, Swieqi Phoenix have mathematically assured our club's first ever First Division title, with two matches to go. In their First Division Women Category game,Swieqi Phoenix encountered Fleur De Lys Swatch and won the game with a 3-0 score (25-22, 25-11 & 25-16).
Balzan Flyers Crosscraft had it better against Paola Volley in the Super League Category as well, with a 3-0 win.
Balzan Flyers Crosscraft who followed last week’s hard fought victory against Fleur de lys Panda with another good win over Paola Volley. The Paolities had Serena Buratomissing and struggled to cope with Balzan Flyers Crosscraft’s stronger attack. Robba’s girls remained close in the first and third set but coach Muncan, assisted by D. Caruana were led the team to close the game 3-0 in just 70 mins.
In the other First Division Women Category matches we have seen Balzan Flyers having an easy win over Mellieħa who managed to win the game 3-0, while Birkirkara won their match against Zabbar St. Patrick’s endinf he match with a 3-1 score (1925, 22-25, 30-28 &25-27).
In the Super League Women Category, Balzan Flyers Crosscraft led by Nikola Muncan, won their match against Paola Volley.
This weekend also saw the derby game between Aloysians,in the Male category,was played, a hard fought game which ended in tie-break. Alyosians Fire won the game with a score of 3-2 over their opponents Alyosians Ice (2520, 22-25, 16-25, 25-22 & 16-14).
In the U16 Women Division, Leonard Zammit Munro girls won their matches against Paola Volley and Swieqi Phoenix Challengers.
