Time Trial Championsh­ip 2018

The Road Championsh­ip organized by the Malta Cycling Federation comes to an end last Saturday, 11 August 2018 with the third and last race at ilMizieb.

In the Elite category, William Hili Mosta AF Sign Studio CC won the race of a one kilometer distance in 02:24.82. Gozitan Brandon Sultana of Gozo C.C. came in second place with an impressive ride, 3:50 seconds behind Hili. Alexander Pettett Pro Action - CT Volata finished third on 02: 33.10.

Marie Claire Aquilina of Team Greens was again first in the Women's category when she clocked on of 02:58.94. She had a considerab­le advantage of 1:44.34 and 2:06.97 on Marion Pullicino AF Mosta Sign Studio CC and Michelle Vella Wood of Team Greens.

Isaac Spiteri The Cyclists once again won the race in the Juniors category ended in front in 02:45.63. Gianluca Camilleri Birkirkara St. Joseph SC finished second at a disadvanta­ge of 0:20.41.

Masters 50+ category was won by Steve Mifsud of Mosta AF Sign Studio CC in 03: 19.38.

The Under 16 category was again won by Sean Enriquez Mosta AF Sign Studio CC Micallef on 02:52.40, a slight edge advantage of 0:01:21 on Gozitan debutant Darren Queen of Gozo CC. Malcolm Vassallo of Mosta AF Sign Studio CC came third in a time of 02:56.00.

The Under 14 girls category was again won by Christina Spiteri of The Cyclist finishing first in 03:36.13, while second was Justine De Giorgio Mosta AF Sign Studio CC. (03:50.26).

Matthew Galea Pirotta of Mosta AF Sign Studio CC won his third race in the Under 14 Boys category on 03: 11.36. Second and third were Tristan Aquilina of Mosta AF Sign Studio CC (03:32.90) and Luca Vella of Birkirkara St. Joseph SC (03:43.04).

The category of Under 12 Boys again was won by the promising Miguel Galea of Team Greens on 03: 26.49. Behind him came two Mosta’s cyclists, Jonas Micallef (04:20.15) and Adam Camilleri (06:19.24).

After the races, John Zammit, President of the Malta Cycling Federation assisted by the Secretary General, Joe Bajada, presented all the winners with medals. The Malta Cycling Federation wants to express its appreciati­on towards all cyclists for their participat­ion as well as officials of all clubs, the team ARRTS Timing System and Emergency First Response for services and their cooperatio­n.
