Fgura beaten as Birzebbuga regain sole leadership

In the Second Division League, Birzebbuga are the noew soleleaders after beating Zabbar by a solitary goal, and taking full advantage of Fgura’s slip against the ever improving Mgarr United.

The match between Fgura and Mgarr was the main match of the weekend and Patrick Curmi’s Mgarr won thanks to a Kenneth Aquilina goal on the resumption.

With this victory Mgarr have now joined the same Fgura United in second place one point behing leaders Birzebbuga.

On the other hand an Andrea Sant first half goal proved to be enough for the new leaders against the inconsistent Zabbar side.

In the other matches, St.Georges and Rabat figured in an interesting 1-1 draw and Mellieha and Kalkara figured in the only scorless match of the round.
