Four containers containing 37 million counterfeit cigarettes intercepted
Four containers with 37 million contraband counterfeit cigarettes were intercepted by the Customs Department at the Freeport, a statement read.
The intercepted containers were found after weeks of work by department officials.
All the cigarettes were counterfeit, the statement read.
10 million cigarettes were found in two of the containers, and 8.5 million in the other two.
In total, the statement read, 37 million cigarettes were found. The four containers originated from Cambodia and were on their way to Libya.
