Godfrey Farrugia: Our political system needs to change
In a message on Sunday, Partit Demokratiku leader Godfrey Farrugia set out the party’s mission to change Malta’s political system and identified transparency as an area in need of reform.
“We want to change politics for the better. We cannot accept that politics be used to squander the common good,” Farrugia said.
Farrugia highlighted 17 Black, the gift of land in Pembroke to db Group, the secret Vitals Healthcare deal and the Saint Vincent de Paul kitchen extension into a multi-million Euro ward as examples of the abuse of public assets for private gain.
Farrugia accused the PL and PN of collusion in hiding the real picture from the people when it comes to certain lucrative contracts given by the state.
“PD in Parliament ensures that public property is used for the common good”, Farrugia concluded.
