Man charged with causing grievous injuries, another with breaching the peace
Two men, of foreign nationality, were arraigned separately in Gozo on Christmas Day, police said. The two were involved in a fight in Xlendi on 23 December.
A 24-year-old Nigerian, resident in Żebbuġ, Gozo, was charged with grievously injuring a 30-year-old man, breaching the peace and breaching conditions imposed by a previous court ruling.
He pleaded not guilty but was refused bail.
The 30-year-old man, of Somalia, resident in Munxar, was charged with public disorder and breaching the peace, as well as breaching conditions imposed by a previous court ruling. He was granted bail.
The prosecution was led by Inspector Bernard Charles Spiteri.
The police did not give the names of the accused.
