Luxol win KO to clinch double
Luxol couldn’t end this season better, as they won the Knock Out together with the Elite Championship.
The Knock Out final was very entertaining, with Luxol sealing another 6-2 win against Valletta.
In the third minute Valletta’s Dylan Musu broke the deadlock and less than a minute later Andy Mangion equailsed. In the final two minutes Leanderson Sant’ Anna Coriolano scored and put Luxol in the lead before the end of the first half.
Luxol made them 3-1 as the ball was deflected by Musu’s hand. And they immediately increased the gap through Nicola Del Re, who was wearing the captain’s band instead of Mark Zammit.
In the last eight minutes Luxol added more goals with Celino Alves and again Leanderson. In the dying minutes Mohamed Abdussalam Elamari reduced the arrears and made the final score 6-2.
After the end of the match, MFA Vice President Dr Matthew Paris presented the cup to Nicola Del Re and Mark Zammit.
Also this week Tarxien Rainbows won the last Promotion Play Off against Pietà Hotspurs. They won 4-0.
