Sliema Hs rout White Hart in their final league match

-

Sliema Hs ended their league commitments with an emphatic 7-0 victory over White Hart. This victory puts them on the top of the table albeit with Qormi Daikin still having to conclude their commitments. The reigning Champions will have to beat Rabat on the 28th May to force a Decider.

Sliema’s game on Sunday was downhill all the way with the Blues completely in command from start to finish.

Charlo Sammut started the scoring and was followed by goals from Jonathan Borg and Silas Plaehn before Sammut got his second for a 4-0 score-line at half time.

In the second half, a second from Silas Plaehn and goals from Ryan Dalli and Ryan George closed the issue.

In Sunday’s second game Rabat finally registered a positive result that rewards their determination this season.

Their victory against Floriana Young Stars was their first one against a team above them in the table.

Two quick goals around the half hour, first from Jamie Mifsud (Young Stars) and one minute later from Shawn Dimech (Rabat) saw the first half end 1-1.

Mario Galea put Rabat in the lead 18M into the second half and Shawn Dimech got his second three minutes from time to put Rabat 3-1 up.

For Floriana Young Stars Jamie Mifsud got his second oneminute later but they did not have enough time close the gap completely and Rabat left the pitch with the 3 points.

There will be no National League matches over the Easter Weekend with the National League ending on Sunday 28th May with Qormi Daikin vs. Rabat and Floriana Young Stars vs. White Hart.
