Malta’s EC English Language Centres relocates and renovates in New York

EC English Language Centres, the Maltese owned English language school group, has unveiled its New York school relocation and renovation as part of its ongoing strategy to create unique and engaging learning environments.

With one of the most modern group of schools in the market today, a key focus for EC is to always stay ahead of the crowd and ensure that staff and students have the most up-to-date technology and facilities at their disposal. By providing this, it supports quality teaching from happy teachers, who in turn deliver this feeling back to their students.

EC New York has now opened its doors at the Paramount Building on Times Square. Touching on the building’s illustrious history, the space has been designed to reflect the silver screen with a modern art-deco aesthetic. The renovations at the New York school are just one of many of their recent developments, with over a third of EC’s 29 schools refurbished or renovated within the last 15 months.

With light-filled classrooms offering incredible views over Times Square, original artworks in every classroom, excellent use of technology and a stylish transition from the 16+ school to the 30+ school, no detail has been overlooked in creating an inspiring learning environment.

The renovation and creation of unique spaces for learning is an integral part of EC’s dedication to innovation in the English language industry. The success of EC Manchester’s launch in 2014, with its contemporary destination touches and hightech amenities, motivated the group to further enhance the facilities for students and educators alike.

Every thought is given to student and teacher comfort and this is reflected in the use of natural lighting throughout, as well as generous staff areas and the overall look and feel. Each school is individual, expressing the voice and identity of its city through on-trend designs developed specifically for that school. The walls of EC Dublin pour words of literary delight from poets past and present; EC Manchester is emblazoned with lyrics and images of the local icons and EC Cape Town has its walls decorated in colourful, hypnotic patterns to represent each of South Africa’s national languages.

Investment in student and staff success

Andrew Mangion, EC’s executive chairman explained the strategy: “EC’s investment in the development of creative learning spaces reflects our commitment to our students and staff. The best facilities, on-trend interiors and inspiring schools facilitate the learning journey our students are taking with us, and the most recent EC New York school clearly underpins this ideology.”

Other recent projects include the relocation and renovation of EC San Diego. Stateof-the-art technology combined with laidback vintage interiors has formed an unparalleled learning space in La Jolla. EC Dublin has captured Ireland’s literary past with inspiring quotes and raw, natural features. Considering all of these, the outcomes of the current renovation of schools in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Auckland are eagerly anticipated.
