Anti-bullying week launched
BBrave has launched Anti-Bullying Week 2019 with the participation of schools and youth organisations between 11 and 15 November 2019, with the theme ‘Change Starts With Us’.
The intention is to help instil a sense of empowerment in youth so they can be the force of positive change.
Schools and youth organisations are being encouraged to hold an anti-bullying activity a day throughout the week. Some of the activities include dressing up as super heroes, crazy hair days, odd socks days, wearing orange, fundraising, book reading sessions, as well as art, creative writing and drama sessions, all related to the anti-bullying theme. BBrave representatives shall also be addressing students at various school assemblies.
“We are happy to announce that this initiative has received an enthusiastic response from schools and other youth organisations, which have come up with creative ideas on how to celebrate this week,” a statement released by the organisation read.
The official launch of Anti-Bullying Week 2019 shall take place on Wednesday, 13 November 2019 during bBrave’s fundraising dinner at one80 Kitchen & Lounge, Mellieħa.
On this day, a number of local celebrities shall also hold a discussion with bBrave members on bullying, drawing from their own experiences. This is intended to convey to the public that bullying affects everyone, and to serve as moral support for those currently facing tough times.
