HSBC supports vulnerable women to mark International Women’s Day

-

In the lead up to International Women’s Day, HSBC Bank Malta and HSBC Global Services (UK) Limited, the entity that runs the contact centre in Swatar, had coordinated the collection of toiletry items for women who are victims of violence, mental health problems and homelessness.

This is the third consecutive year in which the two HSBC entities adopted this immediate and sustainable approach to supporting this segment of our society.

Donna Falzon, site head of HSBC Global Services (UK) Ltd said: “There was a big need for new daily essentials and care products for women who are vulnerable due to various reasons. Items like shampoos, shower gels, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaving blades and gel, sanitary items, deodorants, facecloths, cosmetics, perfumes, gel and body lotion were all required together with other household items. This annual collaboration between HSBC Bank Malta and HSBC Global Services (UK) Ltd helped many women and teenage girls who really do need our support in order to move forward in their lives.”

The items collected have been distributed among more than 160 women and teenage girls in homes and shelters such as Fondazzjoni Dar Il-Hena – Dar Maria Dolores and REACH Residential, Dar Tereza Spinelli, Dar Imelda, Correctional Services Agency Malta, Angel Tree Club Malta, Dar Merħba Bik - Dar Bakhita, St. Jean Antide Foundation, Għabex Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter, YMCA, Villa Rubery and Life Network Foundation Malta.
