Camilleri hopes tell-all on government corruption will lead to new arrests and investigations

National Book Council chairman Mark Camilleri will be publishing a book which is set to include “previously untold facts about corruption and the government.”

He hopes that the new information will lead to new arrests and police investigations.

In a Facebook post, Camilleri said that he will be publishing a book on Malta’s current political and financial crisis next October.

“It took me a while to decide to write it because the book will reveal many new facts previously not yet told about corruption and the government. These facts may (hopefully) lead to new arrests and police investigations.”

Camilleri said the country is currently in a downward spiral, “politically and financially while we experience a crisis both in governance and the economy. Labour politicians take comfort in the fact that the Labour Party has a big majority of the electorate and will win the next elections come what may, and nothing else matters.”

“Values in politics have been decimated and the progressive values of the Labour Party are diminishing altogether. As a Labour Party member, I am very concerned about the future of the country and the Party and I feel I need to do my part to help clean this mess.”

The outspoken Camilleri has been a harsh critic of the Labour Party and its former Leader Joseph Muscat. The Labour delegate had also lashed out at Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi over their involvement in the Panama Papers scandal.
