Massive wins for Żebbuġ Youngsters and Balluta Barracudas

Żebbuġ Youngsters and Balluta Barracudas started brightly their 2021/22 campaign after clinching massive victories against their respective opponents.

As the MAFA Second Division got underway, even San Ġwann Pro Evolution and Mqabba Albions had a dream start while in the MAFA Third Division Żabbar Southsider­s passed their first test as they saw off Ta' Ġiorni Wanderers.

From what we have seen, the second category of MAFA will produce some very entertaini­ng encounters with all the teams armed to the teeth to achieve their objectives.

Balluta B-Mosta V 6-1

Balluta Barracudas didn't find any difficulty to obtain a 6-1 win over Mosta Vikings. The Cudas were in fine form as Andrew Tortell, Matteo Sansone, David Cardona, Jamie Dimech, Matthew Tortell and Jorgen Benitez Gonzalez put their names on the score sheet with Darrell Grech reducing the gap for Mosta Vikings.

Zebbug Y-Fgura S 5-0

Even Żebbuġ Youngsters hit the headlines in the first match day of the MAFA Second Division after seeing off Fgura Spartans 5-0. The result was never in doubt for Gabriel Mifsud's troops as Joao Orban and Omar Kamara helping themselves with a brace while Sevan Luc Leon adding another one for his team.

San Gwann-Naxxar V

One goal in each half was enough for San Ġwann Pro Evolution Academy to start brightly their season as they saw off Naxxar Victorians 2-0. The latter tried to play their typical game

2-0

but found their opponents in fine form and unwilling to give away any favours.

Randy Meuleman put the San Ġwann outfit ahead as Toufik Belaissaou­i doubled the score for his team.

Mqabba A-Zejtun L

Mqabba Albions had a happy return in MAFA football as they registered a 3-1 score line over Żejtun Laċċi. The latter opened the score on 44 minutes but the Albions scored three quickfire goals through Gildave Brignone, Shaun Abela and Alan Errington to get the three points at stake.

Zabbar S-Ta’ Giorni W 5-1

Meanwhile in the only match played from the MAFA Third Division, Żabbar Southsider­s were in fine form after trouncing Ta' Ġiorni Wanderers 5-1.

The Southsider­s had Gabriel Calleja as their inspiratio­nal player after netting a hat-trick with Luke Cachia and Abdul Latif also hitting the target.

Ta' Ġiorni Wanderers equalized temporaril­y through Emanuele Ferliano.
