86 new Covid-19 cases reported as total cases now over 40,000

86 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Tuesday.

62 people meanwhile have recovered, and with no new deaths reported for another day the number of active cases of the virus currently stands at 1,337.

22 patients are currently receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital, and three of those are in intensive care.

977,631 doses of the vaccine had been administered up until Monday, with 137,747 of those being booster shots.

Malta has had 40,009 cases of the virus. 37,885 of those have recovered, while 468 have died.
