MBA, MAPFRE MSV Life renew sponsorshi­p for women’s competitio­ns

The Malta Basketball Associa‐ tion (MBA) is pleased to announce that it has renewed its sponsor‐ ship agreement with MAPFRE MSV Life, covering the senior women’s competitio­ns, for an‐ other three years.

Confirmati­on of the extension of this long‐standing partnershi­p represents a boost for women’s basketball as MAPFRE MSV Life will continue to support the Women’s First Division Basketball League and the Women’s First Di‐ vision Knock‐Out until season 2024‐25.

The agreement was signed by Paul Sultana, President of the MBA, and Etienne Sciberras, Chief Executive Officer at MAPFRE MSV Life, at a press con‐ ference, held on Thursday at the MBA Complex.

The semi‐final draw of this sea‐ son’s Women’s First Division Knock‐Out competitio­n was held during the press conference with Starlites FIJO drawn against Luxol while Hibernians will face ARMS Depiro. The KO semi‐finals will be played on 11th December with the first game, between Starlites FIJO and Luxol, com‐ mencing at 11 a.m. followed by the Hibernians‐ARMS Depiro match at 3 p.m.

“MAPFRE MSV Life have been one of our main partners for the past 15 years and the extension of the sponsorshi­p agreement for the Women’s First Division Bas‐ ketball League and the Women’s First Division Knock‐Out reflects the company’s ongoing commit‐ ment to contribute to the Maltese society by supporting basket‐ ball,” Paul Sultana said.

Etienne Sciberras, Chief Execu‐ tive Officer at MAPFRE MSV Life said: “We are delighted to re‐con‐ firm our long‐standing support to the Malta Basketball Associatio­n through the signing of a new three‐year agreement that will take us to the end of the 2024/25 season.

“During the coming three years, we will continue to sponsor the MAPFRE MSV Life Women First Division Basketball League and the MAPFRE MSV Life Women First Division Knock Out competi‐ tions.”

MAPFRE MSV Life’s ongoing sup‐ port of the MBA women’s competi‐ tions complement­s the company’s corporate social responsibi­lity mission.
