Under‐19 UEFA preparator­y tournament gets underway today

Under 19 National Team Coach Toze Mendez has announced the final squad for the under 19 Preparator­y Tournament that will be hosted in Malta. Malta will play against Portugal on Wednesday 23rd (kick‐off 18:00hrs) at the National Sta‐ dium, against Germany on Satur‐ day 26th (kick‐off 12:30hrs) at the Gozo Stadium, and against Poland on Tuesday 29th Novem‐ ber (kick‐off 12:30hrs) at the Na‐ tional Stadium in Ta' Qali.

The squad was unveiled on Monday ahead of the players ar‐ riving in camp on Monday morn‐ ing.

Preparator­y Tournament

A preparator­y tournament ahead of the Under 19 EURO fi‐ nals 2023 will be held in Malta between July 3‐16, will be organ‐ ised on the islands between the 23rd and the 29th of November 2022. The event will feature teams from Germany, Portugal and Poland that will join the host and play in two stadia; the Na‐ tional Stadium in Ta’ Qali and the Gozo Stadium in Xewkija.

The goal of this event is to give the host a taster of what is to come in July. It will also give the hosts and the three teams, who probabbly will book a place in the final tournament, an oppor‐ tunity to play in a preparator­y tournament. It is also a chance for the countries to take on op‐ ponents of their same kind.
