An exceptional cat show for Christmas spirit

-

This Royal Cat Society will be holding its grand finale show this year. As final preparations are underway the organizers are working round the clock to make this show a truly memorable one! With 76 entries of different breeds, this international cat show is bound to be one of the largest ever held in Malta. The participating cat breeds include: the British shorthair, the Domestic household pet, the Scottish straight fold and shorthair, the Exotic shorthair, the Oriental Shorthair, the Maine Coon, the Bengal, the Neva Masquerade, the Sphynx, the Siberian, Devon Rex, Highland fold, Japanese bobtail shorthair, Ragdoll and the Cornish Rex.

The Royal Cat Society International Cat Show is being organized in collaboration with the World Organisation of Cats. It will be welcoming both pedigree cats as well as household pets to compete in their respective categories. Two professional judges, Alla Liplianski from Israel and Katharina Krenn from Austria, will be adjudicating.

During the event one will be able to appreciate the efforts of local breeders in raising the best exemplars of their breeds. Moreover, one will be able to interact with the exhibitors and garner their practical advice on the rearing of particular breeds. There will also be a live talk by a cat behaviour expert, called 'How to cat proof your Christmas'. This is part of the RCS’s commitment to education on the ethical rearing and care of cats. Remember that raising animals involves a great deal of commitment and it is good to have adequate preparation before welcoming a new member of the family! Having a pet and taking good care of it is a lifelong commitment.

The large participant turnout is a result of the fraternal spirit existing between the various competitors and the organizing team. There is a great deal of enthusiasm for this show being the last one of its kind held this year. Christmas cheer will be reflected in the color of the trophies and rosettes to be awarded to the winning entrants. Just by looking at them decked in display is enough to captivate the festive mood!

The RCS events always have an educational and charitable purpose. This show is intended to showcase the dedicated care which breeders and exhibitors shower on their feline companions. As with the previous shows, the RCS will be holding a collection for the feeding of animals in shelters. It is worth noting that the RCS has the wellbeing of all cats at heart. Moreover, many of the participating breeders and exhibitors have both pedigree and domestic cats and are also actively involved in providing for sheltered animals.

The Royal Cat Society and its allied breeders and exhibitors will be eager to meet you on December 3rd and 4th from 10am to 5.30pm at the MCAST Student Hall, Paola. Entrance is through Gate 3. Ample parking space is available. Entrance to the general public is free. What better way is there to start off the festive season than by appreciating our lovely feline companions? Cat lovers can always bank on our friendship and support!
