Malta FA Awards evening on 25th May

The MFA Awards are back to represent the final act of a truly captivatin­g season just over and rounded off with the nail‐biting semis and final of the IZIBET FA Trophy.

Fellow players, coaches, admin‐ istrators, members from the Technical Centre setup, and members of the media all con‐ tributed to the final votes that ul‐ timately will determine the best players who will be recognized for their achievemen­ts, efforts and contributi­on to their team’s objective in the season just over.

The MFA Awards will take place on Saturday 25th May, starting at 8 pm with a live broadcast of the event on TVM‐ sport+ from the Double Tree by Hilton in Qawra.

A total of 19 awards will be pre‐ sented with all domestic levels included from the Youths to the National Amateur League, Chal‐ lenge League, and the Elite com‐ petition which is the BOV Premier League.

A completely new concept this year will be 'The Football Social Responsibi­lity Award', aligned to a great initiative that has im‐ pacted in the best possible way on social justice.

MFA Awards Chairman of the Organizing Committee this year is Vice‐President Mr. Adrian Casha also noted that Gozitan football players who get out of their comfort zone to take the plunge in the Maltese leagues in their objective to raise their level of competitio­n will also be rewarded in the “The Gozitan Achievemen­t Award”.

Mr. Casha added that the usual prestigiou­s award which is the “Footballer of the Year” is the highlight of the event, equal to the last edition in 2023, this highly the regarded award will also be presented in the Women’s category.

Other categories include Coach of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Foreign Player of the Year, and the best player from the lower divisions too.

“The President’s Award” is also deemed quite valuable and will be handed out during the night by Malta FA President Bjorn Vassallo.

The best 10 goals of the season are also a feature that has year after year generated interest, like the winner of the Hall of Fame award selected by the As‐ sociation to somebody in the football scene of the past who has pulled off an extraordin­ary success during his career.

This year the MFA Awards has also a female touch with the Women’s National Team ac‐ knowledged during the night for their outstandin­g feat of clinch‐ ing the summit in a UEFA Na‐ tions League D competitio­n, enabling them to attain promo‐ tion to an elevated level of League B.

Media Personalit­y Sarah Ba‐ jada will host the show as a compere with entertainm­ent in‐ cluded in the event with the par‐ ticipation on the stage of the female local band, MARA.

The Malta Futsal Team will also be recognized during the night after their recent Futsal first‐ever top‐of‐group finish in a UEFA European Champi‐ onship Preliminar­y Round in Switzerlan­d.

Mr. Adrian Casha took the op‐ portunity to applaud all club members for their passionate commitment and participat­ion in the various competitio­ns over the the season just over.

He also underlined their ef‐ forts in terms of pushing their young talents who form part of their academies, helping them out and contributi­ng to nurtur‐ ing these

young kids in their develop‐ ment and strive to become fu‐ ture stars and compete one day at the highest level.

One final appreciati­on by Mr. Casha to all media members for their contributi­on over a long season and their coverage through their different but hugely followed platforms, all doing their utmost to promote in the best possible way Maltese football and the efforts under‐ taken by all stakeholde­rs to pro‐ tect the image of the beautiful game on the island.
