Bortex doubles size of Bay Street store

-

Bortex has doubled the size of its outlet on Level 2 at Bay Street, St Julian’s, which at 450m2 is now the second largest Bortex outlet in Malta.

This was brought about through the continual development internationally of the Gagliardi brand, an ever-increasing seasonal collection that is now found in some of the best department stores in Europe. In order to be able to display the full Gagliardi range, Bortex simply needed more space.

Although formal and business wear remain the core of the Bortex business, according to managing director Peter Borg, there is a growing demand for smart weekend wear which the Gagliardi range encompasses, including evening/party wear – anything from traditional tuxedos to elegant outfits for clubbing.

Bortex now boasts a complete menswear range, from socks and underwear to cufflinks and fragrances, taking in bags, briefcases and a well put together range of footwear.

Among the suiting brands available are those tailored from Lanificio F.lli Cerruti and Lanificio Ermenegildo Zegna, Gagliardi and Rochas. Casual wear ranges from McNeal, including jeans, to appeal to the younger generation, Christian Berg and Brax, together with the footwear brands, including Loake, Anatomic, Barker and John White, reinforce the unbeatable brand offer available at all Bortex outlets.

The ambience of each Bortex outlet is carefully created, with the traditional dark wood for the business wear and formal suit collections, with the more nautical blue and white finish for Gagliardi.

“Ours is an aspirational but affordable brand and, with Gagliardi, we are now well down the path of international expansion,” Mr Borg said. “Clients visiting our outlets are treated to a luxury shopping experience but are taken aback with our affordable prices. We are constantly receiving requests from our trade buyers to take the Gagliardi brand into their country as stand-alone outlets.”

Bortex now operates six retail outlets in Malta including Valletta, Sliema, Marsa and Mosta and one in Gozo.
