10th million login and counting for the BOV Mobile app
Over 10 million logins were registered on the BOV Mobile application since its launch on the market five years ago. This was announced by Ivo Camilleri, Executive Electronic Banking at Bank of Valletta during a brief presentation at BOV Centre in Santa Venera.
Christopher Attard was the BOV Mobile subscriber who logged in for the 10th million time. Ivo Camilleri presented him with an iPhone 7 in recognition of this important milestone. On this occasion, Mr Attard had used the application to review his accounts, but as he explained to Mr Camilleri, he is a frequent user of the app, and uses it regularly to pay others as well as to settle utility bills.
The BOV Mobile app has transformed the way customers interact with the bank, with BOV Mobile subscribers using the service twice as often as Internet Banking subscribers in any given month.
“We believe that the BOV Mobile app represents the ideal banking solution for today’s lifestyle, enabling customers to manage their finances on the go, in the most flexible manner possible,” explained Mr Camilleri.
He mentioned how BOV Mobile subscribers were able to make a donation to Id-Dar tal-Providenza during the BOV Marigold Volleyball Marathon in one simple step by using the app.
Looking ahead, Mr Camilleri reiterated the bank’s commitment to continue evolving its BOV 24X7 Services suite. “Our investment in this area will continue to be driven by the urge to provide our customers with simple seamless solutions that are robust in terms of security and data confidentiality.”
In this regard, he intimated that the bank is working hard on a new and improved version of its BOV Internet Banking that will be launched on the market in the near future.
The BOV Mobile app is available on Apple iPhone and Android smart phones and tablets. It may be accessed both locally and overseas using either 3G/4G or WiFi. The application is available for free download from the Apple App Store and from Google Play.
