The Orchard Restaurant launched
The Orchard Restaurant is situated at a serene area in Naxxar offering an intimate yet casual environment for patrons who want to enjoy a good lunch or dinner in a tranquil setting. Full of natural light, the set-up makes it also ideal for corporate lunches, private dinners and special occasions. The modern classic restaurant enjoys a beautiful outdoor terrace for those wishing to dine outside.
On Monday, 30 April the grand launch of The Orchard restaurant took place – guests were treated to a five-course meal as a taster from the newly launched Orchard menu accompanied by different local wines to complement each plate.
Charmaine Attard, general manager, accompanied by AX Holdings chairman, Angelo Xuereb greeted the distinguished guests and thanked them for accepting the invitation. In doing so she introduced the recently appointed head chef James Rizzo, whose experience was reflected in the beautifully crafted dishes prepared on the night.
Rizzo has worked in the UK with Jamie Oliver in one of his franchise restaurants, Jamie’s Italian. Moreover, he worked as a relief head chef across Jamie Oliver’s restaurants in the UK and helped out in Jamie’s food development kitchen team, for his upcoming menus.
The Orchard menu offers a selection of traditional gastronomic dishes infused with some other in-house creations – all cooked by the head chef and his dedicated staff using the finest of ingredients. Leafing through the menu one could also find some scrump- tious specials such as the pan-fried spied duck and the grilled lamb fillet, among others.
On 1 May a fresh summer menu was launched. A combination of light starters, to freshly prepared salads, moving on to some char-grilled steaks and fish dishes can all be served with the Orchard kitchen’s original touch.
The wine list complements the menu by offering a wide spectrum of wines from around the world. One can start their meal with something to tease one’s taste buds like the evergreen Negroni cocktail and go all the way to finishing off with more refined tastes like the Vintage Port.
The Orchard Restaurant opens daily for lunch from 12.30 to 3.30pm and for dinner from 7 to 9.30pm. A special Sunday Buffet Carvery lunch is served between 1 and 3pm offering a generous selection of antipasti, soups and pasta, followed by pork, beef and lamb from the carvery table along with a number of vegetable and potato dishes. The dessert table includes a wide selection of cakes, a cheese dish and fresh fruit. The price is inclusive of free flowing local beer, wine, water and soft drinks.
