Reports of paint damage from Palumbo Malta Shipyard unfounded

The Malta Business Weekly - - NEWS -

Reference is made to reports in the press earlier this week quoting posts on social media alleging that specks of paint emanating from Palumbo Malta Shipyard have stained vehicles and buildings in the San Ġwann T’Għuxa area, in Cospicua.

These claims are totally unfounded,Palumbo said in a statement.

Police and officials from the Environment Resources Authority inspected the shipyard in recent days to investigate the above mentioned allegations and established that all painting work is being carried out in line with correct procedure.

Furthermore, Palumbo wishes to state that the paint used on vessels in the drydock is being applied by roller and not by means of spray.

Palumbo can assure there is absolutely no basis for these allegations.
