DataByte sees growth in demand for its HR products

-

DataByte has experienced a marked increase in demand for its HR modules throughout 2018 as more clients have been investing in the company’s growing cloud HR suite. This, together with the deployment of a warehouse management system for a leading third-party logistics Maltese company, make 2018 a fundamentally important year for DataByte.

“This year was a fundamentally important year that rewards our efforts and strategies from previous years. To us, these are two critically important milestones achieved this year as we strive to strategically become market leaders in these two areas of business,” says Frederick Micallef, CEO of DataByte as he reviews the company’s operations over this past year.

“We have successfully grown our Workforce Cloud HR Suite to include more modules that are having a particular resonance on the market and this is very encouraging for us as we plan to add even wider HR management functionalities through more integrated applications in the near future,” he added.

DataByte has been seeing incredible growth and demand for its HR function where management complexities, both locally and abroad, are putting the company in a very good position to build a product with even a strong international appeal.

Referring to the company’s Warehouse Management System for Third Party Logistics application, which is being developed jointly with leading logistics company Express Trailers and in solid partnership with prominent glob- al consulting firm Gartner, Frederick Micallef explained how this IT platform consists of a software through which whatever the commercial activity being operated, it can ‘talk’ to the retailer’s e-commerce software and handle all the orders and deliveries in real time.

This system will be deployed at Express Trailers’ new 2,800 sqm warehouse that has been designed to manage third party inventory and will the company manage the delivery logistics on behalf of their customers.

“With regards to this product, we plan to put on the market our first cloud version of what is aimed to be a warehouse management product that will have international multi-language functionalities. With Gartner’s input the upgraded product will appeal to the wide and fast-growing business of international warehouse management as a part of the complex supply chain process,” announced Mr Micallef.

Referring to the company’s vision for next year, Frederick Micallef explained that whilst being mindful of the further growth in the local economy that will result in a bigger national workforce, the company plans to deliver its HR clients with more complex and fully-integrated software tools and business analytics to permit better management of their human capital through better efficiencies and effectiveness.

“During this year we will add modules to our HR system that our new clients are demanding from our suite. Amongst others, these will include a Rostering and Scheduling module and a Performance Appraisal module,” he announced.

He also referred to how recruitment and on-boarding are fast becoming more frequent and complex occurrences as more companies open shop in our economy.

“HR numbers grow and employee mobility keeps increasing. This is an undeniable trend that is affecting almost all industries rather severely. Through our Software as a Service (SaaS) offering we will try to automate and improve HR management for many organisations even those with a wide geographical spread as we optimise secure cloud and internet connectivity.”

“The tech and finance sectors will see no rest and technology growth continues on its exponential trajectory. We are seeing more mobility requirements, more cloud developments, Fintechs establishing firmly and the new blockchain looming over every industry function. These are wonderful challenges that we will need to understand and absorb in our journey into the very near future to help us give more software service platforms to our clients both locally and abroad,” concluded Frederick Micallef.
