Business 1st awarded National Prize for Enterprise Support

Business 1st was named the winner of the latest edition of the National Prize for Enterprise Support. More than a competitio­n, the award raises awareness about entreprene­urship both locally and nationally.

The selection committee considers initiative­s by local councils, ministries, civil department­s, authoritie­s and public entities, public-private partnershi­ps, schools, trade organisati­ons, NGOs, public education institutes, the University of Malta, trade unions, and profession­al associatio­ns.

The Business 1st App was declared winner of Category B and was, therefore, nominated for the European Enterprise Promotion Award, along with GRTU, the winner of another category. The EEP Awards were held in Graz, Austria, in November.

The Business 1st project consisted of the creation of a One-Stop-Shop for government services for business; enterprise support through training activities and informatio­n; process simplifica­tion for entreprene­urs; a focus on new entreprene­urs to receive a comprehens­ive service and guidance during the registrati­on process; access to a variety of services by the Call Centre, email, mobile app, and face-to-face services at the centre in Mrieħel; and specialise­d joint ventures with several partners including Malta Enterpris, Servizz.org, MEIB, GRTU.

The €10,000 prize awarded was donated by Business 1st to Dar tal-Providenza.
