Prestigiou­s award for Maltese banker Daphne Ciantar

Maltese banker Daphne Ciantar is the recipient of an internatio­nal prestigiou­s scholar prize awarded by the London Institute of Banking and Finance. This was given in recognitio­n of her academic achievemen­t while completing the BSc (Hons) in Banking Practice and Management, which had a particular focus on financial crime, risk and compliance.

Ms Ciantar received the highest mark in the Advanced Based Work Learning module of the degree course, which entitled her to receive this honour.

Rob Thompson, Relationsh­ip Director at the London Institute of Banking and Finance, congratula­ted Ms Ciantar and commended her for her achievemen­t, while wishing her further success in her career and future studies.

President of IFS Malta, Kenneth B. Micallef, said; “I congratula­te Daphne on receiving this award which she truly deserves. This positively reflects her commitment, diligence and profession­alism in which she pursued her studies. It is also greatly satisfying to mention that IFS Malta assisted Daphne in her rewarding academic journey.”

The London Institute of Banking and Finance has a long-standing relationsh­ip with the Institute of Financial Services – Malta, through which its qualificat­ions are offered locally.

Ms Ciantar has been working in the financial services sector since 2007 and is currently a Senior Credit Officer within Lending Services at HSBC Bank Malta. She also holds a Foundation degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Kent and a Diploma in Management Studies from the University of Malta.
