Thomas Smith extends its support to numerous sports organisations

-

Thomas Smith’s ambitions to create sustainable working environments and empowering individuals to broaden their horizons extends further than the Group’s offices. The company is broadening its support to two sports organisations; both at different spectres of the local sports scene.

Gudja United FC has been promoted to the Maltese Premier League for the first time in the team’s history; under the exceptional leadership of Josef Mansueto as coach and Thane Micallef as assistant coach. Together with Thomas Smith’s sponsorship of the football club, the Group has invited children interested in sports, aged between seven and 13 years of age to act as ball boys and girls. This opportunity aims to increase awareness and interest with the younger generations in the sports itself. Children are invited to experience a unique opportunity to share some of the wonderful moments experienced during Gudja United FC’s high-profile games throughout the season at the Centenary and National Stadiums.

The Malta Marathon has gained celebrity status within the athletics community, marking its start in 1986. With over 1,000 participants taking part in each race and a staggering 5,000 applications submitted for the official Malta Marathon event, Thomas Smith’s partnership will support the organisation to help it thrive further.

Local and foreign participants will take part in numerous races planned throughout this year and the next, mainly The Zurrieq Half Marathon & 10K on 10 November, The Mdina 2 Spinola on 22 December, The Attard 10K on 19 January, The Malta Marathon on 1 March and The Gaudos Half Marathon and 10K on 5 April.

These support initiatives aim in making Thomas Smith Group an advocate for the culture of fitness and personal well-being, promote sportsmanship and unite people together.
