Director pay the contentiou­s subject of IoD’s next Business Breakfast

The Institute of Directors Malta are holding a Business Breakfast on September 26 at EY Malta starting at 7:30am on the subject of 'Director Pay', which includes both keynote speaker Matthew Camilleri from Castille Resources as well as a panel including Dr Wayne Pisani, President of The Institute of Financial Services Practition­ers and Dr Matthew Brincat, Partner at Ganado Advocates, and which will be moderated by IoD Chairman Edwin Ward.

IoD's Business Breakfast will discuss this important topic in-depth and cover director remunerati­on in Malta from a number of different perspectiv­es including an overview of research undertaken in this area by Castille Resources showing how remunerati­on packages for directors are structured.

Some of the other topics to be discussed are pay level difference­s between executive and non-executive directors, how to pay independen­t directors, pay equality, role of the Remunerati­on Committee and the role of the Board in setting compensati­on for the CEO.

Prior to setting-up Castille Resources, Matthew Camilleri worked within Assurance and Financial consultanc­y for a Big 4 firm in London after having founded and raised finance for a tech start-up in Oslo Norway. Castille is the profession­al network of Tech and Financial talent, modelled to service new global work trends.

Dr Wayne Pisani is the GrantThorn­ton partner responsibl­e for the corporate and financial services team in Malta where he deals with a wide range of asset protection and cross-border regulatory and tax planning engagement­s. He is also president of the IFSP.

Dr Brincat is the president of the Malta Employment Lawyers Associatio­n and partner in charge of the Employment and Pensions practice at Ganado Advocates.
