Europe’s largest student organisation to open at MCAST
The Erasmus Student Network, Europe’s largest student organisation, is set to expand its presence in Malta and open a section at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology.
Established in 1990, ESN is present in 42 countries and in over 1,000 higher education institutions. As a non-profit student organisation, ESN represents all international students and contributes to the development of international student exchange programmes.
In Malta, ESN was established in 2011 at the University of Malta and has since grown to become the most popular student organisation on campus.
ESN Malta is a non-profit organisation which is run by students who are always eager to help incoming and outgoing Erasmus students.
The organisation also strives to create intercultural dialogue between international and local students and facilitate their integration within the community through the social, cultural and sports programmes which it organises.
The collaboration with the University of Malta has enabled all foreign students to feel welcomed, to integrate and get involved within the local community.
Following the great success of ESN Malta’s work at the University of Malta, ESN is looking to increase its reach and represent all international students studying in Malta, which is why they have taken the decision to open a new section at MCAST.
ESN Malta states that they “are looking to collaborate with higher education institutions, which like us, want to promote internationalisation and the enrichment of society through international students. Including MCAST will allow us to better represent foreign students in Malta and increase their engagement on campus”.
MCAST principal and CEO Prof. Joachim James Calleja said: “We warmly welcome ESN’s presence at our College. MCAST is an international college open to opportunities of inspiring exchange. We want our students to make the most of mobility opportunities and to be open to international working, learning and networking opportunities.”
KSM-MCAST Student Council stated: “We are more than proud that another student organisation joined forces with us to deliver a stronger message towards our students.”
