BOV introduces additional ATMs and new night safe

-

In recent years it is estimated that the availability of ATMs in Malta is almost one and a half times as high as in the rest of the euro area. Despite this, BOV is aware that there’s still an expectation gap among the public and has moved to address this gap by extending its ATM fleet to serve customers better.

With the largest customer base in Malta, BOV has taken an ambitious approach to educate people to shift from cash dependency and increase card usage. With an average of over 24,000 ATM transactions per day in the first quarter of this year, the bank acknowledges that customers use ATMs for more than cash withdrawals, with deposits also very popular among the public.

Introduction of two additional ATMs and a new night safe

In light of this, to better serve the increase in demand of ATM usage, BOV has introduced two additional ATMs, one located outside Bugibba and the other at the Victoria Gozo branch. These ATMs will help split the load of daily usage in the area. In addition, BOV has also installed a Night Safe at the Bugibba branch, since the closest location in the northern part of the island for Night Safe services was Mosta. Now businesses have the convenience of depositing money in their vicinity at their convenience.

Seamless customer experience

The bank is constantly working towards providing a smoother customer experience both during branch hours and after hours. As part of its customeroriented approach an initiative that BOV recently introduced in branches is a dedicated Meet-and-Greet. Part of the Meet-and-Greet role will be to create awareness and guide customers towards better ATM usage. These staff members will also be at hand to show how customers can use alternative channels such as Internet and Mobile Banking services or using bank cards for daily transactions, since these channels are far more efficient alternatives to personal visits to branches and can help customers carry out their banking needs after working hours in a seamless manner.
