Northern Cypriot delegation studies WSC’s water management experience
A delegation from the Turkish Republic of northern Cyprus recently visited the Water Services Corporation to study how Malta has been successfully tackling water issues.
Delegates comprised engineers, administrators and city mayors who wanted to learn from the WSC’s experience in Reverse Osmosis technology, infrastructure leakage reduction, re-use of recycled wastewater and the automated meter project currently underway to further increase efficiency.
The progress achieved by the WSC in the above fields as well as positive results in the reduction of energy consumption, were decisive factors that brought the Cypriot delegation to Malta.
The
Cypriot
delegation’s spokesperson Mehmet Erkul praised the goals achieved by the WSC and said they were an inspi- ration to his country’s efforts in resolving the serious water problems in northern Cyprus.
