MTA promotes Malta in Dubai
The Malta Tourism Authority along with the Consulate General for Malta in Dubai recently organised a seminar with the aim of attracting future MICE business to the Maltese Islands.
Josef Formosa-Gauci, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) chaired the presentation, which gave an overview of Malta’s offer for tourism. He commented that “Malta offers a unique experience, for the leisure as well as the corporate business market out of Dubai and the Gulf region’
During the seminar, Anthony Tabone Consul General for Malta in Dubai, welcomed the initiative and also confirmed that Malta is being considered by a number of multinational companies, which are operating their businesses out of Dubai. Mr Tabone added, “For this reason we feel that the UAE is a high-potential market, particularly for MICE business.”
Nadine Brincat, Senior Manager MICE at the MTA, gave a detailed presentation on Malta’s offer for conference and incentive groups. Ms Brincat assured the guests that Malta boasts the facilities and ser- vices to satisfy this demanding market, including high quality five-star hotels, Quality Assured Destination Management Companies and engaging team building activities.
Khalid Al Haddad – District Manager (Sharjah & N. Emirates), welcomed the guests at the event and spoke about the longstanding relationship between Emirates Airlines and Malta.
During his visit
to the UAE Formosa Gauci and Mr Tabone were welcomed by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, CEO and Chairman of Emirates Airline. Mr Formosa Gauci thanked H.H. for the commitment of Emirates Airline to Malta which flies to Malta on a daily basis and is currently increasing the number of seats on its aircrafts. Markus Klaushofer, CEO of Malta International Airport was also present for the meeting.
