Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz staff organises volunteer cleanup
After joining ‘The Green Inspiration by Kempinski’ earlier this year, the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz staff organized a cleanup at the San Lawrenz locality with the collaboration of the local council.
Being part of this organization, the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz has created a team of staff members and a hotel mascot who can easily adapt and implement certain initiatives put together by the group. Therefore, continuously meet and exceed guest expectations of operational and environmental sustainability.
The journey began on a nice sunny but cool day in October, meeting up at the hotel with Anthony Formosa, the Mayor of our local council of San Lawrenz. Very happy with the gesture to help out the locality, he showed staff the location in the outskirts of our village which some unfortunately use as a dumping site even though the councils offer weekly services for such waste collections.
As staff made its way to the area, they were astonished by the marvellous scenery and landscape, which many of us take for granted every day. But such thoughts came to a sudden stop once they stepped out of the cars and had a closer look at what surrounded us...and after just an hour of the cleanup, a total of 420 kilos of waste was collected from one road alone!
